Why Buy
Young.
For over a century, the Young Automotive Group's commitment to family values and quality service has stood as a testament to the viability of the American dream. Seldon "Jack" Olsen's example of grit, ambition and dedication has inspired his lineage. Those who sought his guidance were provided with a wealth of knowledge and experience.
It's these qualities that gravitated Sam Young to Olsen's mentorship. Young sought ways to prove himself, and he developed into an exceptional leader as well as a guide for his sons.
Seldon and Spencer Young Sr. had the opportunity to learn from both leaders. It was through their ability to adhere to guidance as well as their unbridled ambition that they were able to expand the Young Automotive Group, plant seeds of success and develop their children into remarkable successors.
Today, the Young's family legacy includes intuitive business professionals, innovative entrepreneurs and impactful leaders. Their name symbolizes characteristics such as grit, determination, ambition, intelligence and wisdom.
Several customers, business leaders and community members have developed great expectations for those within the Young family as well as the thousands of people they employ. Each is dedicated to a set of core values as well as a mission to deliver an exceptional customer experience while generating a fiercely loyal following that loves to Think Young.
"One person can become the catalyst for something incredible — but it takes generations to make that same thing monumental."The Young Family
100 Years Young
In 1924, Jack Olsen opened his first automotive dealership in the small town of Morgan, Utah. Despite facing the tough times of the Great Depression, he persevered and grew his business, opening a second dealership, Olsen Chevrolet, in 1940. The 1950's brought more changes as Jack moved his Layton dealership to a bustling spot on Main Street and welcomed his son-in-law, Sam Young, into the family business. Through the coming years, Sam's sons — Seldon, Spencer, and Roger — began learning the ropes of the automotive industry from the ground up. Sam, accepting the role as president in 1977, continued running the company with a steady hand.
The 1980's marked a new era for the company, with Spencer Young stepping up as president in 1985. He not only carried on the family legacy but also re-branded the dealerships from Olsen to Young, setting off an era of expansion. By the time Spencer delegated his leadership role in 2014, the Young Automotive Group had blossomed into a network of nine dealerships spread across two states. Today, the torch is held high by Spencer Young Jr., Jack Olsen's great-grandson, leading an organization that's much more than employees — they're family. As we celebrate our 100-year journey as a family owned and operated business with currently 30 automotive and powersports dealerships, we share our mission — to deliver an exceptional customer experience while generating a fiercely loyal following that loves to Think Young.
